![]() When it comes to getting fantastic formals on your wedding day there are a few tips to make sure they turn out even better than expected. One your wedding day it can be difficult with time restraints to get all the photos you dreamed of so make sure you spend time with your photographer planning the timeline and making sure everyone in your wedding party is on the same page. Your photographer, if he is anything like me, should sit down with you some time well before the wedding date to make sure your timeline is set in a way to give ample time for capturing the most important images on your wedding day. Typically we are looking for at least 30 minutes of quality time with just the bride and groom and we may try and kidnap you at some point during the reception for sunset shots or a stunning night time photo. Besides giving your photographer the time he or she needs to get the images they know will make you smile when you see them make sure you plan some great locations with some variety but don’t over extend yourself. Two great locations is far better than trying to fit in too many places in a short period of time. The quality will go down if we start to stretch the limits of multiple locations. Believe me that a photographer works best on their feet and can quickly come up with completely unique images in just one location so trust their instinct and work with them to find what great spots are close enough and filled with key spots for killer photos. Last but not least keep someone around to make sure you are looking your best and no one else. Traveling in large groups just makes everything go by slower so keep you Maid of Honor around to make sure your hair and makeup is looking great and to carry a purse but don’t bring the whole family with you on this part of the shoot. Keep it intimate that way you can truly have that intimacy on camera. I hope this helps you on your wedding day and may you have a fantastic day filled with amazing images and wonderful experiences.
